Philosophy Every face has its own unique beauty and story to tell. My job is to capture that beauty and story visually. I frequently hear the words "... but I'm not photogenic!". I disagree. You are beautiful and I will capture that beauty if you are willing to work with me. While I am a firm believer in developing the best possible technique, I have taken a lesson from my background as a professional Jazz musician and applied it to photography. In Jazz, technique ultimately becomes secondary to collaboration to produce a moving and memorable performance. Photography is the same in that it becomes a very subtle dance between the photographer and the subject resulting in a moving experience for the viewer. I shoot primarily with a digital camera because of the flexibility it offers. I have over 16 years of experience using industry standard graphics editing tools such as Adobe® Photoshop® but I use these tools to enhance what has already been captured, not just for the sake of using them. |
